“The Welsh Conservative debate tomorrow offers Wales a roadmap to recovery for the country’s health,” says Angela Burns MS, the Shadow Minister for Health, who outlined the debate saying:

“Under Labour, some 20 percent of patients are on a waiting list, with more than 2,000 waiting longer than two years for treatment, and over the last five years, five out seven health boards have been in special measures or targeted intervention.

“In the Welsh Conservative debate, we’ll be setting out our vision for NHS Wales. This includes the Welsh Government publishing – urgently – a recovery plan for the NHS that will clear the backlog in treatment and ensure that no-one has to wait more than one year for treatment, will see mental health being treated with the same urgency as physical health, and crucially, committing to our plans to recruit more doctors and nurses to reduce waiting times.

“Labour has held back our NHS for too long, and the people of Wales have had enough of their health being so undervalued in this way. It must not be allowed to continue.”
