The 22-year old admits being at the scene of the brutal killing, but denied being responsible.
A jury dismissed his claims and found him guilty of murder.
Symonds will be sentenced at Newport Crown Court today alongside six others.
Leon Clifford, Peter Mccarthy and a youth, were also found guilty of murder; while Lewis Evans, Raymond Thompson and Ryan Palmer, were convicted of manslaughter
