TikTok launched in 2016 in China and since then it has grown tremendously with 689 million active users and 2 billion downloads worldwide. The popular social media app is available in 150 markets and in 39 languages. It seems that everybody uses TikTok these days, and there are many different growth services to be used. Even though it has many users, not all of them have success on the app, which is where the growth services come in handy; by helping users to organically grow their follower base, and if this sounds interesting then you could try TokUpgrade. To be successful on TikTok you need to do a bit of research and consistent hard work. It takes dedication.

Besides having creativity, there are 4 specific factors that generate success on TikTok, and those factors are:

Know the algorithm

A very important factor of success on TikTok is understanding the algorithm.  Understanding the algorithm will generate success for your account. This is how TikToks algorithm works:

  1. When you create and upload a video onto TikTok, the app will show your video to 100-500 users. This is how they access if your video gets attention or not. The users that get to see your video may or may not follow you already, this is just a way to determine if your video will get engagement.
  2. The next step is for TikTok to determine how much of your video is watched and how many likes, comments and shares your video gets.  TikTok will also determine how many people who have seen your video actually follow you and how many times your video has been shared.
  3. Next, the algorithm will use the speed of your engagement to rate your video. If your video gets roughly 20% more likes in a day or the percentage of the video watched is above 60%, then TikTok will expose your video to more people by recommending it on the For You page. Alternatively, if the engagement rate is low, the video will be shown to less people.

TikTok also looks at the following things to determine what type of videos their users want to see:

  1. Type of device, language and negative feedback that the video may have generated.
  2. If the users are in the same country as the video creator.
  3. The algorithm looks at song clips, hashtags and captions to categorize videos and recommend similar videos.

It is also important to note that the bigger your follower count, the more views your video will receive.

Ultimately, following the algorithm works to your advantage. You get to understand how TikTok works and how your video will be distributed. You will also know whether or not to switch up and create better content based on the interactions with your video.

Take advantage of trends

One fact about TikTok is that there will be trends and those trends change frequently so it’s important to know what they are. Participating in trends gets your videos noticed and generates more likes for your videos, as well as helping you to get more TikTok followers quickly. Generally, skits and dances are popular trending topics but songs and audio clips go viral as well.

How trends work are, you’ll get a specific dance for example that goes viral, soon after that, TikTok users will recreate this dance and post it onto their accounts and before you know it there are thousands, sometimes millions of video recreations of the dance on TikTok.

Be creative with content

Tik Tok really is an app that favours creativity so don’t be boring. Be as creative as possible! Besides being creative, it also benefits you a lot to be original. Be as out-of-the-box as possible and use trending hashtags to reach more people and get more engagement.

Also, don’t use TikTok to sell products as this is not popular.

Find a niche

To be successful on TikTok you need to find your niche. Luckily, the niches on TikTok are not saturated so there is a lot of potential for success. Some popular niches include: Make up and beauty, fashion and fitness, comedy and cooking videos where people share their personal recipes. Choose a niche that best suits your personal brand and then create content that aligns with that. This will increase your engagement and get you more likes and followers.

Ultimately, TikTok is a platform where you can have fun and be entertained so follow these 4 steps and you will enjoy success on this popular app.
