Malcolm Powell, a classic car enthusiast from Pembroke Dock is helping to raise funds for Withybush Hospital by holding a classic car charity run on Sunday 11th April 2021.

The run will start at 10.30am in Fort Road car park in Pembroke Dock, they will head to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest, then onto Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen before returning home. The cars will slowly drive past the hospitals to show their thanks to the staff who have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic.

It will be a fantastic display of classic cars and onlookers are encouraged to watch from a safe distance whilst following social distancing guidelines and donate to the event.

Participants are asked to pay £10 per car and Malcolm is also collecting sponsorship money. For anyone interested in taking park or donating please contact Malcolm on 01646 682 619.

All funds raised from the run will go to Withybush Hospital, Malcolm said “After the year we’ve had, I just wanted to give back to the NHS. I wanted to do something to help and say thank you. My granddaughter is a Paramedic and I think the staff in the NHS are really brilliant people.”

Tara Nickerson, Fundraising Manager for Hywel Dda Health Charities says, “We are very grateful to Malcolm and everyone who’s taking part in the classic car run. It will be a brilliant event and fun to watch. The money raised will support services at Withybush Hospital above and beyond what the NHS can provide.”
