Visitors returning to Swansea city centre as non-essential retail reopens this week will notice some colourful additions.
Local artist Jenny Chisholm has been hard at work creating striking artworks on drab utility boxes.
Taking inspiration from the native flora and fauna and animal habitats of Wales, Jenny completed her task while the streets were quieter during lockdown.
She said throughout the pandemic there has been a huge surge of communities growing their own food, taking time to enjoy nature and contemplating the balance of our eco-system, and she wanted to reflect this.
Her project was part of Swansea Council’s Central Arts Strategy.
Jenny said: “It’s been such a joy working on them and people really seem to like them, so I think it’s been a really worthwhile project, as it seems to be helping people’s well- being, which is what I kinda wanted to be able to do.”
