As part of its Northern Area Development Project, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) has announced that development work will shortly commence at its site at Parc Noyadd, Llandrindod Wells.
Coordinated by the MAWWFRS Estates Department and in collaboration with Lawray Architects and Design Team and T.A.D. Builders Ltd, the work will involve the extension of the Llandrindod Wells appliance bay. The extension will allow additional space for a Fleet, Engineering and Logistics workshop to be incorporated into the onsite setup and improve its facilities.
The existing overflow car park at Parc Noyadd will be extended and will include a rainwater garden with native trees and shrubs.
Two twin 7Kwh electric vehicle charging points will be added to the site, enhancing MAWWFRS existing infrastructure. Bird and bat boxes will also feature in the development of the project.
Work is due to commence on site at the end of April.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Iwan Cray said, “The imminent development work at Llandrindod Wells Fire Station is part of our Northern Area Development Project and a commitment towards realising our vision to becoming a world leader in emergency response and community safety.
We are working closely with Lawray Architects and T.A.D builders to deliver a modern and state of the art workshop for our Fleet, Engineering and Logistics Department, which will be based at a location that best suits our requirements to protect our communities.”
Chris Evans, Director of Lawrays Architects said “Having designed and delivered the existing Combined Services Centre at Parc Noyadd in 2012, we are delighted to have been part of the Northern Area Development Project and achieving this key milestone as we progress to the construction phase of what will be a workshop facility fit for the 21st century.”
T.A.D. Builders Ltd. Commercial Director, Mr. Delwyn Jones has said “How delighted we are to be involved in this project and working alongside Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) and Lawray Architects once again, together with the rest of the design team and our existing and new supply chain partners.
Works will start on Site on Monday 26th April and we look forward to delivering a first-class extension to the fire service”
