Saturday 01/05/2021 Ammanford CC won the toss and elected to field.

A decision made on the pending weather forecast that rain was due to fall well into the game.

Owen Davies Ammanford’s pace bowler ripped into the visitors batting and claimed three vital wickets at crucial moments in the game that had the Neath innings stuttering to put pressure on the home side.

Owen (Dougie’s) figures of 3 for 21 was a very credible performance and he was ably supported by his captain Alun Evans and the reliable Mathew Fisher each taking a brace of wickets to restrict Neath CC to a total of 154 all out.

The rain did intervene and a revised total of 80 from 20 overs was set for Ammanford to chase down. Ammanford achieved their target and an impressive win over good opponents.

Captain Alun Evans who took a painful blow to his ankle during his bowling spell will be well pleased with his team’s performance which will help him ease his pain!

It was great to see live sport taking place again in Ammanford and the home side can take this encouraging performance into their next games
