An automated, fever-screening camera solution that detects potential infection carriers through temperature recording has seen great success after installation in many locations, including two across Wales and Denmark.
Automated fever screening began at the dealership in Llandudno, North Wales to enable customers, staff and suppliers to be screened on entering the premises. The first reactions from the employees were positive.
Customers also commented that they had heard about fever screening and were happy to be in an environment that was monitored automatically by a camera, reporting that North Wales Honda were taking a constructive step towards the health and safety of all those visiting the dealership.
North Wales Honda was also happy to have the footfall statistics recorded by the ViraHawk in the building, helping to manage traffic, validate the effectiveness and adjust marketing expenditure. While recordings of unexpected footfall at strange times of the night also alerted the franchisee to possible security issues out of hours.
In Denmark, fever screening began at the Brande plant in the wake of the public shutdown in Spring 2020. Initially, all the Department Heads performed manual temperature checks. However, these were found to be unreliable and extremely costly.
However, the managers were completely open about the benefits of fever screening, and there was general buy-in from the employees, who have been happy to hear it was now happening automatically with less intrusive means.
ViraHawk access control: Siemens Gamesa
As an organisation working in renewable energy, Siemens Gamesa’s employee culture is very health and safety as well as security conscious.
Ulrik Bjerre, Head QM&EHS and Logistics, commented: “We are extremely happy with the system. It just works and ensures a smooth and safe entry process into our buildings!”
The dual success of the technology will surely see Sentispec’s Virahawk become more commonly used in more businesses and institutions.
