Does your smile cost the earth? The oral care industry is dominated by products packaged in plastic and your smile could be costing the earth as an estimated 300 million plastic toothpaste tubes are thrown away every year* and that figure is based on the UK alone.
Discover new reasons to smile during National Smile Month and meet the UK based oral care company innovating zero-waste products to shake up the industry – now that’s something to smile about. Georganics will be running the campaign #ZeroWasteSmile, which aims to encourage the sharing of smiley selfies and serves to educate consumers on the impact of plastic oral care waste and the alternatives available.
Founder Alessandro Rocchi commented: ‘I created Georganics with the vision of making natural, sustainable and effective oral care available to more people and with varieties to suit people’s needs. There is so much plastic filling up our landfills and we need to change our behaviour to protect our planet.
I hope our #ZeroWasteSmile campaign will inspire more people to consider the environmental impact of their oral care routine and raise awareness of sustainable alternatives. Going zero waste doesn’t mean missing out on choice.’
Georganics also operate a zero to landfill programme, when you buy one of their Beechwood or Sonic toothbrushes you can send the heads back to them (x4 minimum) and they will recycle them in a way that most council recycling schemes won’t. All products come in reusable, compostable or recyclable packing so, nothing ever needs to end up at a landfill site.
