It is almost guaranteed that everyone living in the U.K has complained about the weather in their lifetime. From sunny blue skies one minute to hailstones and thunderstorms the next, the weather in the UK certainly keeps us guessing.

May has given us a wide variety of weather conditions, which left us wondering, is this likely to continue throughout the summer? And if so, where are the most unpredictable districts in Wales located?

Interested in this, SaveOnEnergy.com/uk collected historical monthly climate observations from the UKCP09 (UK Climate Predictions) for June, July & August*. The five climate variables analysed include: sunshine hours, rainfall, average temperature, wind speed and relative humidityEach variable was then ranked and totalled to find a total unpredictability/volatility score out of 10 for each district – with a score of 10 being the most unpredictable and 1 being the most predictable.

Key Points:

  • The Welsh district with the most unpredictable summer weather is Torfaen.
  • Blaenau Gwent is second on the list with a total score of 7.72 out of 10.
