We’re all, of course, worried about the Climate Crisis. Progress is being made but there’s so much more that needs to be done – and, with the launch of RYVIAS, so much more that CAN be done.

Many of us are changing our behaviours, from reducing, reusing and recycling, to changing our travel habits, but many of us also wonder “what more could we be doing?” and “where do we even start?”

That is why RYVIAS is working to become the world’s largest eco-school for learning about Sustainability, Innovation and Conservation (SIC).

Through learning and collaboration, RYVIAS aims to impact every person on the planet by making a meaningful difference towards a more joyful and sustainable planet for all.

“We wanted to create a focused network of like-minded people,” explains RYVIAS founder Leo Cunningham, “and give them the space and tools to learn and get involved in sustainability, innovation and conservation.” 

Aliza Ayaz, United Nations Goodwill Ambassador said: “By empowering students, we are empowering current and future businesses, scientists, engineers, workers, and the private sector — investors — to work together against climate change. The bigger the carbon footprint, the bigger the platform, the bigger responsibility to lead. RYVIAS is the tool to do this”

Organisations and companies are already making great strides in the sustainability and conservation fight. Many of these, however, are working in isolation, or within siloed groups, which slows their possible positive impact. That is why RYVIAS exists. A place where individuals, groups, organisations and companies can find one another, learn and collaborate to drive positive change.

ACT LOCAL – AFFECT GLOBAL

And this is the case with a number of organisations in SouthWest England and Wales, RYVIAS’s launch location. Organisation such as the Bristol Green Capital Partnership who alongside RYVIAS, connect with local businesses and over 150 organisations to help positively educate and create community education and action across the region. Another local organisation, the Centre for Sustainable Energy works with RYVIAS to educate the SouthWest to change the way they think and act on energy.

The North Wales Dragons, a football team who make a difference, use sport to enable community based projects to empower a brighter community. Chris Roberts, co-founder said, “RYVIAS will be a powerful tool in our recruitment, communication and the ongoing education of our members.” 

As RYVIAS Director of Education Ben Cunningham says, “Education, combined with action, can really make a difference. RYVIAS is a hub for real world projects, at all levels, from local action to global inspiration. We have launched in the SouthWest as this is a place that already takes SIC action seriously and we have identified amazing opportunities in local projects and partners keen to make a difference. There also seems to be a huge call for self education on an individual level and this is something RYVIAS can easily answer. Every college, university, business and family can come together to create a fantastic sustainable life for their whole community. We’re here to bring people together to get inspired and make that happen”

LEARN. CONNECT. SHARE. 

‘Learn. Connect. Share.’ is the philosophy at the core of what RYVIAS is and does – and why they’re working with assorted partners, collaborators and ambassadors to drive this change.

Some, such as UN Youth Ambassador Aliza Ayaz, Dutch environmentalist Alexander Verbeek, and Australian conservationist Jessie Panazzolo, are known across the world. Others, such as Time4trees – who plant trees to help the carbon-offsetting process – or BugLife – who work to stop the extinction of invertebrate species – are renowned across the UK.

And others, such as BGCP Bristol Green Capital Partnership, or the Bristol-based Centre for Sustainable Energy, or the Avon Wildlife Trust, are making a huge difference at a local level. Which, in due course, makes a huge difference at a global level.

As ever, the most important part of RYVIAS is you – the individual who, thanks to RYVIAS, can learn the skills to make your community, and your world, a more sustainable place to live. The individual who, thanks to RYVIAS, is never alone. The individual who, thanks to RYVIAS, will have the tools, knowledge, skills and connections to make real, tangible change today and tomorrow.
