Morrisons is launching a brand-new, spicy hot double decker pizza – The Hot Daddy Double Decker – to give dads the ultimate cheesy meat feast this Father’s Day.

Handmade in store at Morrisons Market Street pizza counters and boasting six toppings, the double decker starts with a stonebaked pizza base loaded with tomato sauce, cheese and hot chilli, which is then stacked with a second pizza topped with spicy pepperoni, salami and Monterey Jack Cheese – all for just £3.89.

The fight for the last slice will become the fight for the last layer as dads indulge in the ultimate supersized treat on their big day.

Chefs at Morrisons have spent months developing the recipe to create the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese; ensuring the bases stay crispy on the bottom whilst holding together the mouth-wateringly cheesy middle layer.

Double stacked-pizzas were made famous by East Village Pizza in New York, inspiring YouTubers around the world to recreate them at home.

Morrisons customers needn’t jet across the world or try their hand at recreating, as the limited edition Hot Daddy Double Decker is available in stores nationwide from today.

Leanne Cory, Pizza Buyer at Morrisons, said: “Pizzas have always been one of our best-sellers around Father’s Day so we’ve listened to our customers and designed a double decker pizza topped with the nation’s favourite ingredients to give dad the lunch he really wants this year. The Hot Daddy Double Decker Pizza took us months to perfect, offers a big kick and plenty of depth in flavour so we’re excited to see what our customers think of it.”

The Morrisons Hot Daddy Double Decker Pizza is available in Morrisons stores nationwide at the Market Street Pizza Counter from today. The Father’s Day Pie and Bucket of Pies are both also on sale now.
