The restrictions the UK were placed under shortly before Christmas left many in the UK missing their loved ones and wishing for the festive season to return.

But who says they have to wait until December 2021 to dig the decorations back out?

GiftsOnline4U asked 2,000 people across the UK if they’re planning to put up their tree for the day and celebrate Christmas in the summer, to make up for lost time.

Surprisingly, 8% said they’ll be getting back into the spirit of Christmas this summer! The unconventional time hasn’t put a stop to their plans.

In fact, the survey also revealed that those living in London are most likely to be barbecuing their Christmas turkey, with 15% saying they’ll be enjoying 2020’s Christmas this summer.

This was followed by 13% of people in the North East and 11% of Wales.

However, some people didn’t want to wait until the sun was shining, the findings highlighted that 10% of people said they’d already celebrated Christmas earlier on in 2021.

14% of those in the East Midlands said the same, as well as 10% of those in East Anglia and the West Midlands.

The results showed that some people in the UK will be waiting until summer is over, with 3% saying they’ll be celebrating their 2020 Christmas later on in the year. Those in Yorkshire and the Humber said this the most (5%).

Those in Northern Ireland are the least likely to be celebrating Christmas this summer though, with just 2% saying they’ll be putting their decorations up for a redo of 2020.

GiftsOnline4U’s Asgar Dungarwalla said: “We completely understand why people will be digging out their Christmas tree and getting their loved ones together this summer.

“After such a disappointing festive season at the end of 2020, it’s a well deserved celebration for people to get involved with.

“And who knows, maybe we’ll see new traditions being born and a Christmas in July becoming more common!”
