Solar Energy UK has created and shared a landmark report on how the UK’s solar capacity can be trebled by the end of the decade. Coming from one of the UK’s leading renewable energy industry bodies, here at Caplor Energy, we welcome this report as it gives us an optimistic outlook on the future for renewable energy.

This report has left us with three key messages:

  • While solar energy capacity is set to double over this decade, the UK must treble it to deliver net-zero.
  • It has the possibility of delivering 13,000 jobs and delivering £17 billion in additional economic potential, supporting a green economic recovery.
  • It will provide over 10% of the UK’s electricity, significantly cutting UK carbon emissions by 4.7% compared to 2019, displacing fossil fuels.

However, to ensure the solar industry delivers the necessary contribution to the UK’s climate change, we need government intervention.

We would like to encourage our Caplor community to read and share this report so we can help to reach the 40GW of solar PV capacity by 2030. If you would like further information on how Solar PV can work for your home, business, or community, get in touch with us.

How does an air source heat pump work?

An air-source heat pump works a bit like a refrigerator in reverse. It takes heat from the air and boosts it to a higher temperature using a compressor. It then transfers the heat to the heating system in your home. Heat pumps also allow you to apply for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), which can provide you with 7 years of payments towards your energy bills.

Find out how Air Source Heat Pumps can save you money and reduce your carbon footprint here.

Almost half of UK businesses are planning to install on-site EV charging this year. It is found that companies are planning to invest £15.8 Billion in EVs and onsite charging, according to a recent survey.
