Team GB Olympian, gold medallist Elinor Barker launches the Persimmon Homes Stay Active pack.

Families in West Wales are being urged to download a free Team GB digital fitness and activity pack to give children a winning edge ahead of an exciting summer of sport.

As an official partner of the British Olympic Association, Persimmon Homes has created a Stay Active pack to help keep children physically and mentally active ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games being held in 2021.

The Stay Active pack is part of the I Am Team GB’s ‘Festival of sport’ which officially launched on the 23rd June and draws on the excitement and success of Britain’s athletes in Tokyo to encourage people to get up and get active. Elinor Barker, Team GB Olympian gold medallist in cycling, launched the Stay Active pack just days before she flies out to Tokyo to represent Team GB in the Olympic Games.

Andy Edwards, managing director for Persimmon Homes West Wales said: “We’re proud to support our local communities and have a proven track record when it comes to helping grassroots sports.

“Thanks to our partnership with Team GB, we hope this pack will instil a bit of extra anticipation and excitement in the younger generation as the countdown continues to one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

“All you need to do is simply visit the Persimmon Homes website and download our Stay Active pack. It’s free of charge and provides all the essentials needed to give children a taste of Team GB training.

“Get active, stay active, and download your free pack today!”

The pack includes a carefully crafted selection of activities – from a fun fitness challenge to discovering facts about Japan to colouring and learning origami.

Tim Ellerton, Commercial Director from Team GB says: “Team GB are proud to partner with Persimmon Homes to inspire young people to be active in the lead up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and as part of I am Team GB. We hope you will download the toolkit, take part and have some fun with your family with Team GB and Persimmon Homes.”

There is also a competition to design a ‘Good Luck Team GB’ poster with the chance to win a £100 voucher and an appearance by a Team GB athlete at a school assembly later in the year. Entries are to be made through the Persimmon Homes’ social media channels.
