Representatives from across the UK to give evidence on Public Procurement policy

The House of Lords Common Frameworks Scrutiny Committee will tomorrow question representatives across the UK from the voluntary sector and local government on cooperation between the administrations on Public Procurement policy.

The session will focus on gaining perspectives around how UK-wide cooperation on public procurement policy has changed between the devolved administrations as a result of leaving the EU, the major ongoing concerns in public procurement policy, and the involvement of the devolved administrations on international policy discussions on public procurement.

Giving evidence will be:

• Cllr Gail Macgregor, Resources Spokesperson, Convention of Scottish Local Authorities
• Ruth Marks, Chief Executive, Wales Council for Voluntary Action

Questions the Committee is likely to ask include:

• What did cooperation between the four administrations on public procurement look like before Brexit and how important were EU rules and regulations in this?
• How aware are you of the Public Procurement Common Framework; and were you consulted as part of its development?
• Do you expect that the UK Government’s public procurement reforms will create meaningful divergence between public procurement policy in different parts of the UK?
• What involvement should the devolved administrations have in international policy discussions on public procurement?
