Two of Llanelli Town Centre’s independent shops are set to be featured in a national campaign organised by social media giant, Facebook, called “Good Ideas Deserve To Be Found”.
Angie’s Baby Cwtch in Vaughan Street and Just Into Crafts, based in Cowell Street, have already had their shopfronts transformed as part of the project and will be highlighted as examples to other small and medium sized businesses for the way they continue to serve their customers and the local community.
Both shops were paid a visit by Llanelli MP, Nia Griffith, who saw for herself the work that the two businesses have been doing in recent months to generate and sustain trade during the recent Coronavirus pandemic.
NIA GRIFFITH MP said:
“It is great to see two local town centre businesses being recognised as part of this campaign.”
“Life for shops operating in normal times is never easy but things have been especially difficult for them since March 2020 thanks to the pandemic and the various restrictions that have needed to be put in place as a result.”
“Angie’s Baby Cwtch and Just Into Crafts are two fantastic local businesses that are leading the way in showing that smaller, independent shops can survive and thrive in our town. I would encourage local shoppers to pop in to these smaller shops around Llanelli and help support our homegrown businesses where they can”
As part of the Facebook run campaign, 14 businesses across ten UK towns were selected for a shop window makeover. Working with world-renowned British conceptual designer, Jo Sedley, and notable window-dresser, Sarah Haine, they created vibrant, visually iconic displays, telling the personal stories of the chosen small businesses in their windows. The high-end window designs aim to encourage shoppers to take a closer look at the unique small businesses on local high streets.
Facebook will also be providing other small businesses and entrepreneurs in the local area with ‘Boost by Facebook’ virtual training, helping them to build their digital skills and leverage digital tools to recover and grow. They will also be offering peer-to-peer mentoring to qualifying businesses which will ensure ongoing support tailored to their business needs.
