Hywel Dda University Health Board’s mobile vaccination van, in partnership with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, will be located in two community locations in Llanelli this week.
On Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 July the van will be located at Llwynhendy Library car park (Heol Elfed, SA14 9HH) and on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 July the van will be located at Seaside Sports and Social Club car park (Caroline Street, SA15 2PB). The van will be open between 11.00am and 7.00pm. There is no need to contact the health board to book an appointment.
The vaccination van will deliver the vaccine to anyone aged 18 and over that requires either a first or second dose (Moderna and Oxford AstraZeneca). Second doses can be given 8 weeks after the first dose.
Bethan Lewis, Interim Assistant Director of Public Health, said: “Over the last three weeks, we have used the mobile vaccination van to provide people with local access to the vaccine in areas where we have lower uptake.
“To date over 1,247 vaccines have been given in Cross Hands, Pembroke Dock and Llanybydder. Next week we aim to place the van in Ammanford.
“With the rise in cases across the UK, we are urging as many people as possible to come forward for their first and second doses as soon as possible.”
First and second dose walk-in vaccine clinics also continue to run at all Hywel Dda mass vaccination centre across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
Please check the opening times of your local centre and call in to receive your first vaccine dose, available for anyone aged 18 and over, or your second vaccine dose if it is due (eight weeks after your first) here https://hduhb.nhs.wales/healthcare/covid-19-information/covid-19-vaccination-programme/mass-vaccination-centres/
