Thanks to donations, Hywel Dda Health Charities have purchased six recliner chairs for Bronglais Hospital’s Dyfi ward to enable patients to sit and sleep out of bed in comfort.
The chairs are the recommended model for cardiac patients utilising chairs for long periods of time. Without these chairs, some patients would have to stay in their beds, which is not always suitable.
Dyfi ward Sister Debbie Lovell said: “On the cardiac side of Dyfi ward there are patients who aren’t able to sleep in beds because of their conditions and these new recliner chairs are of real benefit. These chairs enable patients to keep their legs elevated, which helps with circulation.
“We are very grateful for the donations that have enabled these six chairs to be purchased for the side rooms.”
