Responding to the news that the Welsh Government will give NHS staff a 3% pay rise, Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader Jane Dodds MS said:
“NHS staff, as have many others, gone above and beyond to keep Wales safe during the pandemic.
“The are burned out and stressed, and whilst lockdown restrictions ease, we are still and will continue to be in the throws of the pandemic.
“The cost of living is set to go up by the same amount this year, meaning the Government’s offer won’t even be felt by many NHS workers. We demand better for our NHS staff.
“I am calling on the Welsh Government to dig deep and do better by our NHS staff, and to commence a pay review for all public sector workers who have kept Wales safe throughout the pandemic.”
