Hey West Wales Chronicle Team,

The man-made problems with the ocean like acidification, plastic pollution, and overfishing have never been more serious — we’re killing our oceans and we know it.

I read the page on West Wales Chronicle that talked about The Ocean Cleanup, which I’m a big fan of: https://www.westwaleschronicle.co.uk/blog/2015/06/12/cleaning-up-the-oceans/ and I thought my article would be a good resource to add because over fishing is contributing to a lot of the plastic they are pulling out of the ocean: https://anglers.com/news/overfishing/

To sum it up, I think governments aren’t doing enough to help and they’re actually contributing to over fishing through their subsidies that usually end up in the hands of big commercial fishing companies – not the small fishermen they’re meant for. I believe that technological solutions (such as Fishtek Marine) and the use of territorial use rights in fisheries management (TURF) will have a bigger impact on our oceans than our governments can and I go into detail on all this and more in my article.

You’re welcome to throw it up on the page I mentioned (in fact I’d love it if you would) if you think it will add value to your page for your readers.

Whether or not you like my article, I applaud you for spreading awareness about such a great organization! Keep up the good work of helping save the ocean!

Tight lines,

Coty Perry
