As we get closer to September, pupils and their parents will be getting ready for a return to the classroom. Another year means another step up for students, so many will be looking for ways to improve their studying for the new term.

When getting into the swing of studying again, new techniques and approaches to school work can help to keep learning feeling fun and interesting. To make sure students get the most out of their work, teacher and Babbel Live content producer Esteban Touma from the language learning app Babbel (www.babbel.com) can give advice on how to tackle school work positively in order to learn effectively. Some of Esteban’s tips include:

  • Make learning fun – Finding ways to ensure that new content stays in your brain is key. Making learning fun is the best way to keep it memorable, for instance, by turning revision into a quiz with your friends.

  • Don’t be afraid of mistakes – Mistakes are awesome. Not only should you be ok with making mistakes, you should embrace them. It’s all part of the process of learning, so don’t be scared to stretch yourself, even when you don’t feel entirely confident.

  • Learning languages – The biggest challenge when learning a language is the barrier we put on our brain that says “I don’t know how to say that.” You have to train your brain to be okay with opening your mouth and blurting out a sentence. Say sentences out loud, and repeat them constantly, and loudly.
