Helen Sullivan from Swansea is celebrating turning 50 by running the virtual London Marathon to raise money for Hywel Dda Health Charities.

Helen, who is Hywel Dda’s Head of Partnerships, Diversity and Inclusion, said: “I will be putting on my daps and taking part in my first marathon. All donations will be gratefully received and will keep me motivated as I wipe the dust off my trainers and start putting the miles in.

“As a member of staff, I get to see the difference that donations make on a daily basis, especially during the pandemic which has been challenging for all. I want to be able to give back, by raising funds as a way of saying thank you.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said they were very grateful to fundraisers like Betsan, who had chosen to take part in the London Marathon to support their local NHS.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda,” said Nicola.

The Virgin Money London Marathon takes place on 3rd October and entrants have 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds to complete the 26.2 miles at a location of their choice.
