Hywel Dda Health Charities has purchased a new patient monitor for the children’s ward at Bronglais Hospital, thanks to local donations.

The IntelliVue MX450 monitor is already in use, helping to care for youngsters on Angharad ward in Aberystwyth.

The monitor is a rapid, painless and non-invasive method of diagnosis, measuring heart rate and cardiac output.

Senior Sister Louise Hughes said: “These monitors are of benefit to the child, as they enable closer monitoring to take place.

“By having this monitor, it gives us extra capacity and we are very grateful to families who think about us when they are fundraising. It makes a massive difference.”

Every penny donated to Hywel Dda Health Charities goes to help patients and staff in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
