Working with dairy farms on sire selection, collaborating with restaurants chains on adding value and helping to develop a new food assurance label is allowing the Evans brothers to de-risk their commercial dairy beef enterprise. In six years they have developed a scalable system around realistic profit and lifestyle targets.
The Beef Farmer of the Year Award was sponsored by ABP UK.
The Farmers Weekly Awards celebrate the very best of British agriculture by recognising hard-working and innovative farmers across the UK. The ceremony was held on Thursday 7th October at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London
About Farmers Weekly Awards
The Farmers Weekly Awards are the biggest night in the farming calendar. They recognise and reward farmers for innovation, commitment to the industry and hard work. The Awards showcase the best farmers in the country by telling their stories. They aim to spread best practice, inspire others and influence the public about the role that farmers play in today’s society. The awards are in their seventeenth year and are sponsored by some of the biggest names in the industry.
The distinctive, round, yellow wall plaque has become a symbol of the innovation and achievements of more than 500 outstanding farmers since the awards were launched 17 years ago.
About the sponsors
The sponsors of the Farmers Weekly Awards span the whole food and farming chain; from retailers to traditional farming suppliers and farming groups. They are not simply leaders in their own right but a powerful collective force, which wields influence and expertise inside and outside the farming industry.
