Pembrokeshire Young Carers, Women & Girls Together and the Hawthorn Project in Haverfordwest for families of children and young people with disabilities and special needs are just some of over 500 services run by Action for Children which will be able to benefit from the partnership.

Action for Children is now in the final two as Morrisons staff vote for who they want to enter a three-year partnership with to raise £10 million.Director of fundraising and marketing at Action for Children, Locks Farmer, said: “At least 4.3 million children are living in poverty in the UK. Every day, we see children and young people sleeping on the floor of cold rooms, feeling hungry because they haven’t had enough to eat or going without proper shoes.

“This cannot be right, but we can do something about it. We will launch The Morrisons Fund to help children who urgently need our support. We will ensure children have everything they need to not just survive but thrive.

“A partnership with Morrisons would be huge for vital local services, like Pembrokeshire Young Carers, Women & Girls Together and the Hawthorn Project. As demand for our services rise, and funding increasingly short, this partnership would allow us to continue supporting children in your hometown.”

Action for Children will make sure the partnership is also lots of fun for the Morrisons staff who get involved. From exciting events, like a big Morrisons Star Jump Challenge and our celebrity-studded sleepout event, to extra-special volunteering, like welcoming children to learn crucial skills like cooking or taking them for a day out, something they can otherwise only dream of. There will be something for everyone to enjoy!
