Wales Taking Baby Steps Towards a Police State
Neil McEvoy Leader of Propel and Cardiff Councillor will appear in Cardiff Magistrates Court on Thursday 21st October at 10am to defend himself for leaving his home on the 15th February 2021.
Neil McEvoy said,
”  We are taking baby steps towards a full police state. The complaint and prosecution are politically motivated. Show me one Senedd member in Wales who did not leave their home during lockdown? Alun Davies MS, Darran Millar MS and Paul Davies MS had a booze up in the Senedd contrary to the regulations, Lee Waters was going back and fore between his 2 homes, Rhiannon Passmore was visiting her lover in England, Vaughan Gething was sat eating chips in a different county to where he lives, contrary to the rules at the time and of course the First Minister was everywhere, as he should have been, sometimes not socially distanced though.
I left my house and travelled a mile to work and now I am being prosecuted.”
In a video circulated on new media, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p4oKAf6irc  Neil McEvoy revealed that the South Wales Police have not provided him with any full statements concerning the allegation. The allegation has also changed between the fine being issued and the case ending up in court.
I am putting my defence statement to the court in the public domain. The public can judge for themselves.
I will be asking to call the Chief Constable of the South Wales Police and the Head of Regulatory Services to be called as witnesses and of course the as yet anonymous complainant.
Neil added, ” Thankfully, we have the rule of law in the UK. I am relived to be able to put my case in court with a proper right of proper appeal, not like the rigged Committees we get in Welsh politics. What we have here is Big Brother Welsh state trying to snuff out political opposition. We have a politicised Chief Constable in South Wales more than happy to play ball.
Our freedoms have been taken. We must fight to get them back. Going to court on Thursday is a step on the journey to fight back. Propel is in the forefront of this fight.”
