MOONPIG RELEASES HUMOROUS BIRTHDAY CARDS AFTER THE QUEEN DECLINES OLDIE OF THE YEAR AWARD

Hot on the heels of HRH the Queen ‘politely but firmly’ declining the very prestigious Oldie of the Year Award, the UK’s leading online greeting card and gifting platform Moonpig has quickly jumped on the bandwagon to coin the latest phrases on a series of hilarious birthday cards.

Royalists can now send their ‘warmest best wishes’ to friends and family who ‘meet the relevant criteria’ in the hope they ‘politely’ accept their birthday wishes as their favourite Oldie.

Iconic new phrases from the Queen released in a statement from her assistant private secretary, Tom Laing-Baker, now feature on cards saying the likes of; “I told them you could have Oldie of the Year Award’, ‘You Are Only As Old As You Feel’, and ‘Warmest Best Wishes You Absolute Queen.’

Sarah Jane Porter Head of Cards at Moonpig commented: “When we saw the news about the Queen politely declining the Oldie of the Year Award we knew it was something that our customers would find amusing, and so we thought her iconic responses would work perfectly when sending tongue in cheek birthday wishes to that “Oldie” in your life

“One of the favourite parts of my job involves publishing cards which feature the latest trend or craze that we know the nation is going wild for, and this latest response from the Queen was a great opportunity to be reactive and turn around over five new designs within a matter of hours.”

All new cards in the range dedicated to the Queen’s latest remarks are available to buy here (coming soon) from as little as £3.29.
