Kids Engaged

Ever since March of 2020, managing different aspects of life has become very difficult. And more so even since the schools are shut down and now the children need to be entertained. They need someone to play with and to interact with. We also hope somewhere in this process they keep learning a thing or two.

Netflix is hosting a bunch of shows to make it easier for you and give the children a wholesome experience of quality shows. There are endless options for tweens and toddlers today that Netflix is distributing and the children may choose for themselves by watching the trailers, teasers or simply surfing through the library.

Octonauts

Octonauts is a show for 2+-year-old kids that uses simple graphics and fun stories to engage them. There is an underwater mobile station and the crew is none other than the Octonauts. Kids even learn a little something about the marine world but there are no moral lessons to this show.

Ridley Jones

The Ridley Jones season 2 follows a curious kid named Ridley and her friends who are trying to protect the museum’s treasures in keeping with family tradition. The shows contain overt lessons from time to time, as Ridley pushes for more responsibilities before she’s ready, which is typical of girls in a lighter tone.

Sofia the First

Imagine The Princess Diaries but for children and without the additional drama and complexities. That is exactly Sofia the First- a young girl gets to know that she is part of a royal family and her life is now changed for the good. She changes everything about herself to fit into her new role and is slightly different from the basic Disney prince and princesses stories that kids usually have the option of.

Free Rein

The sweet and sober story is about Zoe who visits her mother’s ranch in England from Los Angeles and makes a new friend- a majestic horse. She also gets to spend a lot of time with her mother and grandpappy. The show teaches the kids about the importance of family and spending time with them.

The Worst Witch

The Worst witch is not just another soap for the kids, it is based on the infamous British book series ‘The Worst Witch’. We’re sure that some bell has rung in your mind upon hearing the name. A lot of fun and adventure takes place in a boarding school called Cackle Academy. The kids are sure to have a good laugh with the school children of Cackle Academy.

Nailed It!

This is a very unique show for kids over 10 years of age. There are no cartoons or princes saving princesses or monsters to save the world from. It is a reality show that even has a moral lesson for the children to take back home. It gives them a lesson on how to face the problems and failures and learn from them and move on rather than just stepping back and quitting.

It puts bakers, more like learners, in a timed competition and the process teaches them, and the audience, some valuable lessons. The outcomes in terms of baking are horrible but the show is overall a good watch for your preteens.
