This summer saw the opening of something rather different in the old boiler room of the Avon Inflatables factory in Dafen, Llanelli. Beer Park has a mind-blowing selection of over 600 beers and ciders from around 200 breweries. It’s a shop, so customers can buy bottles, cans or gift packs. It’s also a bar, serving chilled beers whenever the shop is open. It’s also a web shop so you can order for national or free local delivery. And if you fancy beer just turning up on your doorstep each month, then choose a subscription. Finally, Beer Park works as a venue offering guided tasting events of Welsh beers, Belgian beers or any range you want. We talked to the owner, Dave Timbrell-Hill about the inspiration for Beer Park. “Basically, I wanted somewhere local where I could find a great range of beer. We’ve 95 active breweries in Wales, over 3,000 in the UK and great beer cultures in Germany and Belgium but I couldn’t find these beers in my home town.” “Since opening we’ve built a great stock. We’ve probably got one of the largest selection of Welsh and Belgian beers in Wales, a cracking range of German lagers and wheat beers and craft beers from small breweries across a dozen countries.” “We stock a huge variety of styles and allowing customers to drink in and discover new tastes and flavours is really important to us. This also means we can offer tasting events where you can buy tickets to sample a range of beers or even ask us to run custom tasting events for groups.” “Over the last four months we’ve been taken aback with the demand for our beers with over 1,000 customers taking out, drinking in or booking events with us. We’ve just released our Autumn tasting events and preparing for a busy Christmas” So, if you fancy a beer you must call into Beer Park’s Bottle Shop and Tasting Room at Dafen Trade Park, Llanelli. SA14 8ND Wednesday to Sunday or check out BeerPark.co.uk to choose from the entire stock, book events or buy subscriptions and vouchers.
