Christmas is fast approaching and for a lot of children and young people in Wales, it can be a tough time of year. However, your readers can help us make a difference to the lives of children while bringing some festive joy to their own family.
The big man himself, Santa, has opened his workshop and teamed up with the NSPCC to send personalised letters all the way from the North Pole to Wales. Readers can make a donation by creating a Letter from Santa, which is printed and posted directly to their child in a festive envelope. They can select from eight different designs, including “Baby’s First Christmas” and “Santa’s Little Helpers” and add personal information such as name, age and interests. Letters from Santa are also available in Welsh.
All we ask in return is a suggested donation of £5, which could help Childline be here for children over the festive period and beyond. Our Childline volunteers in Prestatyn and Cardiff will be among those volunteering their time at our 12 bases across the UK to listen to children and young people over the Christmas period. £8 could answer two calls to Childline, whatever time of day and night, even on Christmas Day. £12 could answer calls from three children and £25 could pay towards training Childline volunteer counsellors to be here for children when they need us.
