Viscose Closures, a leading manufacturer of tamper evidence and packaging solutions, has been recognised at a leading business awards ceremony in recognition of its manufacturing capabilities and agility during the pandemic.
The Swansea-based manufacturer was named as a finalist at the highly anticipated Make UK Wales Regional Manufacturing Awards, celebrating the country’s most innovative and dynamic manufacturers.
Viscose Closures was selected by a specialist judging panel as runner-up in the SME of the Year category, recognising the company’s agility and excellent customer service during the pandemic and following the end of the Brexit transition period. The judges also noted Viscose’s success in identifying and distributing to new market sectors during the year.
The award was presented by Dickie Davis OBE, Deputy Director for the Industrial Transformation Division, Welsh Government, at a prestigious awards dinner at Celtic Manor Resort on Tuesday 2nd November.
Vince Minchella, CEO of Viscose Closures, said: “We are delighted to have received the ‘Runner-up SME of the year” at the Make UK awards, recognising our specialist work and successes in new markets over the last year. The Viscose team is very much like an extended family and this award reflects the dedication and commitment of every single member of our team who ensure that we are at the forefront of manufacturing in Wales.”
The award is the second in as many years, with the company also being recognised as Manufacturer of the Year 2020 by Insider Wales.
Viscose Closures has been manufacturing film and cellulose tamper evidence solutions in the UK for over 125 years and this year celebrates manufacturing in Swansea for 70 years.
Viscose has a strong commitment to reducing the sustainability and carbon footprint of its manufactured product ranges by developing environmentally friendly packaging, using biodegradable, recyclable and compostable materials.
