New research on Google data reveals that Kate Middleton has the most popular royal smile, beating other royals including Meghan Markle, and Her Majesty The Queen.
- The Duchess of Cambridgeâs smile receives over twice as many Google searches as Meghan Markleâs
- On average Kateâs smile is Googled 36,000 times per year, in comparison to the 17,400 searches Meghanâs smile receives
- Prince Harry places third with 15,000 Google searches per year
Dental care experts Altima Dental analysed the number of Google searches for British royal family members which contained the terms âsmileâ and âteethâ, to discover the top five most popular royal smiles.
The top spot goes to the Duchess of Cambridge, who is more commonly referred to as Kate Middleton by the public. Her teeth receive an average of 2,400 searches per month, which combined with 600 searches for her smile, results in approximately 36,000 searches a year.
Rank | Royal Family Member | Total Searches for Smile/Teeth (month) | Total Searches (year) |
1 | Kate Middleton | 3,000 | 36,000 |
2 | Meghan Markle | 1,450 | 17,400 |
3 | Prince Harry | 1,250 | 15,000 |
4 | Lady Louise Windsor | 900 | 10,800 |
5 | Queen Elizabeth | 650 | 7,800 |
In second place is Meghan Markle with a total average of 17,400 Google searches per year – less than half the searches that Kate Middletonâs teeth receive. The term âMeghan Markle teethâ is searched an average of 1,000 times per month.
A spokesperson for Altima Dental commented on the research, âThe royal family are recognisable worldwide and incredibly influential so it is exciting to see just how much of an impact they have, even down to their smiles. It is fascinating to see whose smile the public is most interested in, with The Duchess of Cambridge topping the list. Her smile is iconic, therefore it is unsurprising that the public is Googling her teeth and taking inspiration.â
Third place goes to Prince Harry with 15,000 searches on average per year, 12,000 of which are specifically related to his teeth. His teeth are searched the same amount of times per month as his wife Meghanâs.
In fourth is the Queenâs granddaughter Lady Louise Windsor, whose teeth receive approximately 10,800 Google searches per year.
Taking the fifth spot is Queen Elizabeth who receives around 7,800 searches a year for her smile. Searches for âQueen Elizabeth smileâ account for 6,000 of the total volume.
This research was carried out by Altima Dental, which was founded in 1993 and has grown to become a group of dental clinics which provides comprehensive dental care to patients at more than 150 clinic locations across Canada.
