New data reveals that Luisa Zissman is the most influential contestant to come from hit series The Apprentice, earning an average of £2,470 per sponsored social media post.
The research conducted by furniture retailer Bed Kingdom studied the social media profiles of every contestant to appear on The Apprentice as well as influencer calculators to establish which contestant is the most influential and how much they can charge per sponsored post.
Luisa Zissman, who appeared on the ninth series of the show, was revealed as the most influential contestant to ever appear on The Apprentice. Zissman can earn an average of £2,470 per sponsored Instagram post thanks to her follower count of 621,000 – the highest of any other former contestant. The star’s influence has opened her up to opportunities outside of her business ventures with presenting jobs as well as a hit podcast.
Katie Hopkins is the second most influential contestant to come from The Apprentice. Her following of 282,000 allows Hopkins’ to earn an average of £1,124 per sponsored post – the second largest amount of any former contestant.
Series fifteen contestant Thomas Skinner is the third most influential contestant of all time, with 126,000 followers. Skinner, who went on to appear on Celebrity Masterchef, can now charge an average of £630 per sponsored post.
The fourth most influential contestant to come from The Apprentice is Sian Gabbidon, the winner of series fourteen. Gabbidon, who owns her own swim-wear and fashion brand, can earn £473 per sponsored Instagram post as a result of her 118,570 followers.
Saira Khan is the fifth most influential star of the show, leaving the boardroom in the very first series to pursue a career that has seen her on the Loose Women panel amongst other appearances. Khan has a total of 103,366 followers on Instagram and can earn an average of £429 per sponsored post as a result.
A spokesperson for Bed Kingdom commented on the findings: “Whilst contestants sign up to The Apprentice to battle it out for Lord Sugars £250,000 investment, there are many more lucrative opportunities that can arise from an appearance on the hit show. If the contestants use their business and marketing skills correctly, not only can they sell their business on social media but also market themselves with ad deals and bring in a lot of a revenue because of their influence.”
