Due to COVID-19, the Golden Globes were not televised this year and just 24 hours after the winners of each category were announced the online search volume spiked massively worldwide by people trying to search how to watch it.
Online searches for ‘Where can I watch the Golden Globes’ also blew up by 925.93% worldwide in just 24 hours.
A spokesperson for Design Bundles commented on the findings:
“This year marks the 79th Golden Globes Awards honouring the best in film and television as well as honouring all-time great actors. Since the first Golden Globes in 1944 it has been one of the most glamorous award ceremonies, so it is to no surprise that people were still trying to stream it online although it was not televised due to COVID-19.”
