With the recent release of ‘House of Gucci‘, new analysis by Instrument has found Gucci to be the second is the most influential luxury brand in the world, whilst Chanel takes the lead by two million.

A recent study by Instrument furniture analysed a list of 60 luxury brands, to see which one gained the highest total of mentions via Instagram hashtags globally, average monthly searches, and article mentions in UK media from the past year.
Chanel takes number one after boasting 70,969,424 Instagram hashtags, 246,000 Google searches and article mentions of 1,300 in the past year. It makes the French fashion house, which is well-known for its fashion, fragrance, and beauty collections, the most influential luxury brand.
Second place goes to Gucci, with Google searches of the brand of 368,000 a month and 1,800 media mentions in the past year. The luxury brand has also pulled in more than 69 million Instagram hashtags which its name is featured in.
Taking in 53.3 million hashtags on Instagram, 201,000 monthly searches and 1,200 media mentions is Dior, which ranks as the third most influential on the list. Established in 1946, Dior is commonly identifiable by its fragrance and fashion line.
Placing fourth is Prada which sees most of its total from Instagram hashtags of 44,123,519. The Italian brand receives Google searches totalling 110,000 each month and 733 UK media mentions in the past year.
Louis Vuitton strikes in as the fifth most influential luxury brand. 41.4 million of its total is accumulated from Instagram hashtags and it is the second most Googled brand on the list with an average of 673,000 searches per month.
Sixth is Givenchy with 31,501,149 from hashtags on Instagram plus almost 50,000 average monthly searches of its name and 135 articles about it in the past year.
Gaining interest of more than 29.7 million through mentions of the brand name, Burberry takes seventh place as the highest-ranked British brand in the list.
Cartier ranks eighth totalling 28,739,473 from media mentions, Google searches and Instagram hashtags. Cartier places just above Celine, which had a difference of 406,955 in its total, giving Celine ninth place in the ranking.
Rolex takes tenth after pulling more than 24.9 mentions of the luxury brand, famously known for its high-end watch

Commenting on their findings a spokesperson from Instrument said âItâs interesting to see how luxury brands influence many peopleâs interest and desire to show their purchase off via social media. Luxury goods can be a way for people to show their wealth or signal their fashion credentials. Chanel wins the hashtag war with more than 70 million tags on Instagram, which helps it top this list as the worldâs most influential luxury brand.â
