New research has revealed the world’s most popular love songs, with Ed Sheeran taking the top spot with ‘Perfect’.
CasinoTop10 analysed Spotify’s official ‘Billion Club’ playlist to find the most streamed romantic love songs. The number of streams was then multiplied by £0.0028 (price per stream) to reveal the potential earnings of each song.

Ed Sheeran claimed the title of the most popular love song with his 2017 release ‘Perfect’ which is a romantic ballad that is dedicated to his wife. The song has been streamed 1,964,651,237 times on Spotify, meaning the singer has earned approximately £5,501,023.46 from it.
‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ placed second with 1,939,262,403 streams. The song was a success for artist James Arthur, potentially earning him around £5,429,934.73. It was released in 2016 and landed at number one in several countries including the United Kingdom.
‘Thinking Out Loud’ by Ed Sheeran follows in third with 1,929,646,966 streams in total. From this, the singer has earned around £5,403,011.5. The song is about imagining lasting love as a couple grows old together and is featured on the album ‘X’.
Sheeran’s song ‘Photograph’ was also featured on the album and placed fourth on this list. It proved to be another hit for the singer; the song has been streamed 1,765,589,565 times, making around £4,943,650.78. ‘Photograph’ is about keeping memories of love in a picture, preserving it forever.

In eighth is Oasis’ hit ‘Wonderwall’ which has been streamed 1,322,182,011 times, potentially earning the band £3,702,109.63. The song featured on the 1995 album ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ and is an ode to someone special.
Ninth place is taken by Jason Mraz with the song ‘I’m Yours’. Released in 2008, the song is about being devoted to the person you are in love with and living in the moment. It has been streamed 1,301,076,386 times, with potential earnings of around £3,643,013.88.
Finishing the top ten is ‘Just the Way you Are’ by Bruno Mars. The song has been streamed 1,177,875,053 times on Spotify, earning Mars around £3,298,050.15.
