Thanks to donations, Hywel Dda Health Charities has been able to purchase some new furniture for junior doctors living on site at Glangwili Hospital.

A television, pool table and patio tables and chairs have been provided for the communal areas at the flats for doctors on the Foundation Programme.

Rhiannon Taylor, the Foundation Programme Co-ordinator at the Medical Education Centre, said: “The doctors have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and these items will help them to relax when off-duty and promote their health and wellbeing.

“The pool table and television will help them to unwind, and the bistro tables and chairs for the small outside patio area will enable the junior doctors to sit outside and have some fresh air.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
