Commenting on the Welsh Government’s announcement that 5-11 year-olds are to be offered vaccinations, Laura Doel, NAHT Cymru Director, said:
“Schools are still suffering as a result of Covid, with high levels of staff and student absences and any extra mitigation measures are to be welcomed. Given that primary schools are especially unvaccinated places and the extra transmissibility of Omicron, we look forward to working with the Welsh Government to ensure schools remain open. The biggest threat to our learners is losing out on face-to-face learning, therefore we must all play our part in helping to stop the spread of the virus.”
