Storm Eunice

The Met Office has issued a red warning of wind from the early hours of Friday morning which is likely to bring significant disruption and dangerous conditions across the country. There is also a yellow warning for localised flooding on roads and coastal areas.

As a result, there will be no bin collections taking place tomorrow morning. This includes hygiene waste and bulky waste collections. Please do not put your waste out. The position will be reviewed tomorrow afternoon with collections taking place on Saturday if the situation has improved.

We have also strongly advised all Carmarthenshire schools to move to online learning tomorrow as a precaution to ensure the safety of all pupils and staff. Schools will be communicating directly with parents/learners with the arrangements for online learning.

Other services affected:

• All our recycling centres will be closed tomorrow morning. Residents with appointments from 12pm onwards will be able to attend in their allocated time slot. Anyone who has an appointment booked in the morning can attend in the afternoon or at any time over the weekend between 8.30am and 3.30pm instead if they wish. Please take your confirmation email with you.
• The Hwbs and cashdesks in Ammanford, Carmarthen and Llanelli will be closed tomorrow. Staff will continue to be on hand to help customers via phone and email.
• All our leisure centres, libraries, museums and theatres will be closed tomorrow morning. The facilities will re-open when it is safe to do so.
