From 2 April to 4 June 2021, the UK dominated the EuroMillions winners’ board. Four ticketholders won during that spell, with only the 7 May winner not being a UK resident – instead, hailing from Portugal. Still, those three UK winners landed a combined £293.13 million from the continental lottery. That last one, on 4 June for £11.54 million, just happened to be a EuroMillions Super Draw.
After that, 12 of 13 jackpots were awarded to residents of France and Spain, with the one exception being the 31 August top prize that was split between a Brit, Frenchman, and a Belgian. That was until yet another Super Draw came around, with the near-£110 million jackpot finding a UK winner once again in February 2022.
With two of the last three Super Draws coming to the UK, it’s fair to question when the next Super Draw is and if the UK is the most successful country in the EuroMillions.

At the time of writing, there had been one more jackpot-winning draw since the UK’s £109.9 million Super Draw win on 5 February, but that went to someone in Ireland. This stood the UK with 115 jackpot winners or 21.9 per cent of all EuroMillions Jackpot winners. However, this still pegs the UK is a close second, sitting just two below France’s 117 winners and Spain’s 113 winners. It’s a close race for the top of the EuroMillions table.
While it’s still a life-changing amount, several times over, in fact, the £109.9 million (€130 million) windfall doesn’t come close to cracking the UK’s or EuroMillions’ biggest prizes. To crack the top-eight of EuroMillions, you need a jackpot of at least €185 million, with the biggest to date being the 15 October 2021 prize of €220 million awarded to a ticketholder in France. In the UK, the top five is floored by a £122.5 million take.
When is the next EuroMillions Super Draw?
The next EuroMillions Super Draw – also known as a Mega Draw – looks set to take place around June or July, per the Super Jackpot explainer. It’s a special jackpot that’s boosted to guarantee a nine-figure win, and to ramp up excitement further, the lottery runners decide to keep the official dates a secret until closer to the intended draw dates.
However, for those seeking to partake in a Super Draw, the good news is that it has become an increasingly prominent part of the lottery calendar. From 2014 to 2019, four years featured two Super Draws, 2015 had three, and then 2016 followed with one – so, the average was two per year. In 2020, that jumped up to four Super Draws, and last year featured three.
Given that 2019, 2020, and 2021 featured their first Super Draws in February, before having a second between 4 June and 3 July, it seems to be a fair guess that 2022’s second Super Draw would take place in June or July. More assuredly, 2020 and 2021 featured September EuroMillions Super Draws.
As each of the last ten Super Draws had an initial jackpot of €130 million, and the UK seems to have an affinity for the special lottery events, it doesn’t come as a surprise that so many people want to know when the next EuroMillions Super Draw will take place.
