Interested in seeing more of Ceredigion’s most beautiful scenery from wild windswept clifftops to sheltered wooded valleys? Why not take part in Ceredigion’s new Walking Challenge?
Ceredigion County Council’s Coast and Countryside team have set up a new challenge to increase the number of people exploring Ceredigion’s Public Rights of Way routes in addition to increasing people’s health and wellbeing.
From February half term, various walks across the county will be published weekly on the Council’s corporate social media pages. There will be three challenges including a 10 mile, 50 mile and 100 mile challenge in addition to a list of accessible/easier access walks. All walks will be self-guided.
There are over 2500km of Public Rights of Way criss-crossing Ceredigion from long to short routes, so over the course of the spring and summer there should be something for everyone to enjoy.
Walkers can take a copy of the promoted routes e-leaflet to help guide them on their way. The promoted routes e-leaflets are available on the Council’s website. These are linked to a town, village or hamlet and show extra information such as a route profile and distance, types of surfaces, convenient parking spots and the availability of any other amenities.
Users of all Public Rights of Way routes are reminded that these paths cross private land and that the Countryside Code should be followed at all times. Walkers should wear sturdy footwear and weather appropriate clothing and take drinking water.
