Andy Clark, was living on the streets with an alcohol addiction. He was homeless and on probation with no hope for changing his life.

Eventually Andy decided to make a change and became involved with local drug and alcohol services. Through his local addiction services Andy was introduced to the Doorstop Project, a branch of the social justice charity, Nacro which provided him with a room whilst he got his feet back on the ground.

Following a 6 month rehab stay, Andy has now proudly secured his own tenancy and has truly changed his life around. Working alongside Nacro, Andy is being trained to work as a support officer in the Dynamic Framework. The new project works alongside the Government’s probation services to provide a career path to Nacro service users and mentorship to prison leavers.

He says: “I’ll be helping people who were sat where I was sat. We help find people leaving prison suitable accommodation and work alongside them during probation. Offering help and support and trying to guide them as much as we can” says Andy. “I want to give back. Not just to my community but I want to give back to Nacro as well for all their help and support as an organisation.”
