Llys y Frân’s Spring Fair welcomes 100,000th visitor!

The windy weather didn’t put visitors off coming along to Llys y Frân’s Spring Fair over the weekend. Over 1,000 visitors enjoyed browsing the twenty craft, art, jewellery, food, clothing, and home décor stalls.

With a range of personalised gifts, decorative gifts and homeware, Melissa Seal of Mel Seal Designs had a very productive weekend at her stall. Mel said ‘Thank you to those who bought items and placed orders, and a big thank you to everyone at Llys y Frân Lake who made everything happen. It was a great weekend.’

The goods on offer were extremely impressive and visitors were impressed with the variety and quality. Jen Miles Art was a huge hit with visitors, featuring Jen’s stunning fine art prints and driftwood frames, collected from the Pembrokeshire beaches and reclaimed to surround her art.

Emma Beattie of Dogem Glass, makes her own glass fusion creations, from pendants to decorative pieces, each one is beautifully created and totally unique. Emma enjoyed a successful weekend at the fair and said it was a very well-run event, really well thought out and organised with lovely helpful, friendly staff.

With the success of the Spring Fair, plans are afoot for an Autumn and Christmas Fair.

Over the weekend the 100,000^th visitor walked through Llys y Frân’s door. Reaching this milestone in the first eight months of opening the new visitor centre, made the weekend even more special!

During this time, Llys y Frân has developed its adventure activity offering with watersports, archery, axe throwing, crazi-bugz and the newly opened climbing wall. With free entry and just £3 to park all day, the site offers plenty of free activities too. There are walking and cycling trails, skills and pump track, and some impressive, graded mountain bike trails all free to ride. The adventure playground has received excellent reviews from our younger visitors and Lakeside Café is attracting returning visitors due to its impressive menu offering high quality food and stunning views over the lake.

With spring on its way, Llys y Frân visitor centre staff are looking forward to welcoming new and returning visitors. The summer watersports season is set to be a huge success as new Activity Manager, Hope Filby implements her plans for the watersports and activity centre. As a former crew member of Criccieth Lifeboat and an outdoor enthusiast, Hope has been fortunate enough to work in several outdoor centres delivering a variety of outdoor activities including sailing, paddling and climbing. Hope recently worked closely with centres across Wales in developing open water swimming and we are excited that she brings a lot of knowledge and experience to Llys y Frân.
