The family tailoring for the world’s biggest stars share story on family business podcast

From tailoring for movies to dressing some of the world’s biggest icons, Welsh designer Timothy Everest’s story is one of innovation and creativity, a journey now shared with his two daughters, Carina and Alyssia.  Now spearheading the next generation of the fashion business, Carina and Alyssia are joined by their renowned tailor father to be interviewed on the family business podcast It Runs In The Family ahead of the launch of the firm’s first-ever womenswear range later this year.

Timothy, Carina and Alyssia join podcast hosts Liz and Leila Willingham on episode 29 of It Runs In The Family to share the ‘shorthand’ dynamic unique to family businesses, how they combatted the negative perception of British tailoring, and how Timothy Everest’s tailoring has dressed some of the world’s most famous people – from Tom Holland to Tom Cruise, Tilda Swinton to Daniel Radcliffe, and many more.

Leila says: “From stories uncovered from within Tim’s fashion house to his daughter’s upbringing and exposure to the fashion world that would shape their career choices, through to the future of the brand now with their influence, Tim and the girls share some absolutely brilliant stories and showcase their fantastic rapport in this episode.”

Liz adds: “If neither fashion or family businesses are of easy listening for some, there’s no need to worry as we cover The Royal Family, Elton John, Daniel Craig, Shoreditch in the 80s, androgynous fashion, Chiltern Firehouse and the City post-covid.”

Listeners will hear Liz and Leila dive into:

  • The design ethos behind Timothy Everest’s tailoring for some of the world’s biggest names
  • Timothy Everest’s push against the negative, elitist perception of British tailoring at the time
  • Combining the qualities of creativity with business acumen
  • A look into the genderless future of fashion collections
  • The respect and lack of hierarchy that comes from working with family

Leila concludes: “If there was ever a story to fall in love with fashion again then this is it. There’s something really special about this family that have had such incredible life experiences and have touch points with such high-profile influencers, but that at the core are clearly excellent at what they do. They are creative, ambitious and fun-loving people that are relishing in the moment working with each other.”

Now attracting listeners in 42 countriesincluding United States, Canada, Russia, Germany, France and Australia, the It Runs In The Family podcast is number three in top UK family podcasts* and is in the top 200 Great Britain entrepreneurship podcasts chart (number 177).
