Since the invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces over a month ago, millions of people affected have been forced to flee.  Aid agencies at the Polish border are dealing with thousands of arrivals daily and have issued an urgent call out for volunteers

Sara Wheeler and Vicky Rowe from Llanbrymair will be going to Przemysl on the Polish, Ukraine border to volunteer for a week on the 30th of March to provide urgently needed assistance.

“Seeing the footage of the destruction has broken my heart. We are excited to have this chance to help, but also very concerned- not due to physical danger but to bear witness to the trauma of the destruction and to meet the people and the families that have been torn apart.” Sara Wheeler

Seba Dabadoo and Rahma Osman who arrived here as Syrian refugees and Mid Wales Refugee Action are hosted a Syrian Meal event at the Popty Clay Bakery In Machynlleth and raised over £800. Contributions to the fund are welcome at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/saraandvicky

All monies will go directly to supporting Sara and Vicky’s journey, aid agencies in Ukraine, and families arriving to the Mid Wales Area.
