Ceredigion County Council is offering the opportunity for Ceredigion school pupils in years 11,12 & 13 to apply to join a 3 day virtual Summer School programme.

The programme has been developed by the Council’s Learning and Development Team and is designed to give pupils an insight into the work of the Council, the range of employment opportunities it offers, in addition to offering support in writing job applications and preparing for interviews.

Debbie Ayriss, Learning & Development Manager said: “We are really pleased to offer this opportunity to the school pupils of Ceredigion. We recognise how difficult it can be for young people to have something to write about in their first job and university applications. The Summer School will provide activities to help young people with application writing and interview skills as well as showcase jobs and careers within the Council.”

The 3 day Summer School Programme will be facilitated by the Learning and Development Team and will run on two separate occasions. The first programme will run over 28, 29 & 30 June and the second 12, 13 & 14 July. Pupils who gain a place on the programme will also be offered an optional 4th day providing a Vocational and Apprenticeship Taster session at Ceredigion Training.

Geraint Edwards, Corporate Lead Officer for People & Organisation said: “We hope that pupils will apply to join our programme, that it supports them in taking the next steps in finding their chosen career and some may be interested in seeking employment within the Council.”

Any pupil interested in attending the summer the school should visit the Council’s careers website: https://careers.ceredigion.gov.uk/early-careers/summerschool/ for more information and to apply online.
