The Strategic Plan sets out the Authority’s vision, mission and values. The Commitments highlighted within the Strategic Plan will be delivered through the provision of an Annual Business Improvement Plan, which will highlight what we will do in the coming business year to deliver against our five-year Commitments.
Our Annual Business Improvement Plan sets out our Improvement and Well-being Objectives for 2022/2023, which are aligned to the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and our Commitments. The Annual Business Improvement Plan focusses on our business and the improvements we want to make to ensure we remain fit for purpose.
The Authority’s Strategic Aims and Improvement and Well-being Objectives have been set in the context of the significant challenges facing public services, but also reflect an appetite to embrace innovative ideas and new ways of working. They also embrace the seven Well-being Goals and reflect the Authority’s duties and commitment to the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
Councillor Elwyn Williams, Chair of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority said:
“We are committed to investing in our people and making the best use of our assets and resources, ensuring our staff are fully equipped to deal with emergencies and better protect themselves and the communities they serve.
“As we continue to meet the financial challenges ahead, we will also look to develop innovative solutions to ensure the provision of cost effective and high-quality services”.
Chief Fire Officer, Roger Thomas said:
“We are delighted to introduce our Strategic Plan 2022-2027 and Annual Business Improvement Plan 2022/2023. The Strategic Plan 2022-2027 which sets out our vision for the future, “to be a World Leader in Emergency Response and Community Safety”. We are confident that our Commitments will enable us to deliver our statutory duties and contribute to the requirements of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
We believe that we are extremely good value for money, however there is no avoiding the fact that the financial climate we are currently operating in will continue to place additional pressures on the levels of service we provide, as we stretch our resources even further. We will therefore continue to play our part by seeking opportunities to identify cost effective solutions through on-going and open discussions with staff and the public, around how we can continue to make improvements and future efficiencies.”
