1/4 Wales drivers can’t reverse park!

Car Dealership, Brindley Group carried out a survey to investigate UK motorists’ thoughts and opinions on parking, gathering both national and regional results. This included personal skills, parking experiences, opinions on parking situations and reactions to hypothetical situations – and there were some quite scandalous response.

  • Parking on double yellows isn’t so uncommon, with over half of Wales-based motorists admitting to have done so unlawfully!
  • Over a tenth (13%) of Wales’ drivers said they had used their hazard lights as an excuse to park where they wanted
  • Parking fines seem to be aplenty in Wales, with over a 2 in 5 (42%) having received one
  • Over a third (34%) admit to having hit a stationary object while parking
  • Almost two fifths (39%) of Wales’ drivers said that someone else had hit their vehicle while parking although only 7% admitted to have hit another vehicle
  • Over 2/5 (41%) of Wales-based motorists would park unlawfully if they were going to be there for a short amount of time
  • A huge 64% of Wales’ drivers said that they should not be allowed to park with part of their car on the pavement, although 36% disagreed
  • 30% of Wales-based motorists have got someone else to park their vehicle for them, simply because they couldn’t do it!
