PBP Foodbank in Kidwelly are helping their community to adapt, recover and thrive, thanks to National Lottery players, by setting up a new project called PBP Poverty Support. We will be providing Poverty Support to the community that is served by PBP Foodbank.

We know that a foodbank only provides temporary support and our members require more in depth support which only a dedicated Poverty Support project could provide. The Project will provide a Support officer who will be based in the Foodbank and who will work with our members to help alleviate their over reliance on the foodbank and provide solutions to their problems. This could be looking for benefit support, speaking with housing and setting up training on topics such as home budgeting and money management. The project support officer will also address any support issues such as mental wellbeing and isolation.

Orianna Evans, Team Leader at PBP Foodbank has said that: “This support allows us to help the clients we support not have to come to a food bank again. This gives us the opportunity to further the support we offer and help even more of a variety of people .”
